Sheikh Hasina Resigns

The escalating violence prompted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resign on Monday, with local media reporting that she has left the country. Reports indicate that protesters have taken control of her official residence. On Sunday morning, demonstrators demanding Hasina’s resignation over the controversial job quota system faced strong opposition from Awami League supporters, as well as members of its affiliated groups, Chhatra League and Jubo League.
