Gurucharan Singh, Former TMKOC Star, Struggles with ₹1.2 Crore Debt and Health Issues

Gurucharan Singh, widely recognized for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has recently opened up about his ongoing personal and financial struggles. The actor, who returned to Mumbai in July after a month-long disappearance, revealed that he is currently burdened by a debt of ₹1.2 crore.

In a candid conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Singh disclosed that he has been tirelessly searching for work in Mumbai for over a month. He expressed his desire to start his “second innings” in the industry, hoping to secure enough earnings to manage his expenses, care for his aging parents, and pay off his substantial debts. Singh owes ₹60 lakh to banks and credit card companies and an additional ₹60 lakh to individuals who have lent him money.

In addition to his financial woes, Singh revealed that he has been on a liquid diet for the past 34 days, subsisting on milk, tea, and coconut water. He admitted to being physically and mentally exhausted after facing consistent failures over the last four years, despite his attempts to venture into various businesses and other endeavors.

Singh’s disappearance in April had sparked rumors of financial distress. However, the actor clarified that his absence was due to a spiritual journey, not directly related to his debts. He emphasized that while he continues to face financial challenges, he remains hopeful and determined to find work to overcome his current situation. Gurucharan Singh
