Indian Parliament House leak ; Congress MP Serious Allegations on Structural Integrity

Congress MP from Virudhunagar, Manickam Tagore, has raised serious concerns about the condition of the newly constructed Parliament building. He shared a video on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) showing rainwater leaking inside the building. According to the video, buckets were being used to prevent the water from spreading.

Tagore claimed that the new Parliament building, which was constructed at a cost of ₹1,200 crore, is already experiencing water leaks, which he finds alarming. He further commented on the situation, stating that while papers are leaking outside, rainwater is leaking inside.

The issue has come to light particularly in the lobby used by the President, where the water leakage was noticed. This incident has raised questions about the quality of construction of the new building, as this problem has emerged just a year after its completion.

In light of these revelations, Tagore has announced plans to submit an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha to address the matter.
